The London System and the Jobava offer White a solid, practical and dangerous repertoire, capable of adapting to different playing styles and opponent responses.
In the first part of the course, Grandmasters Leonardo Tristán and Andrés Rodríguez present the general ideas of the London System, its classic models and the main resources to develop effective attacks.
The second part is dedicated to the Jobava, a more dynamic and aggressive approach. Sacrifices on d5, breaks with f4 and kingside expansion plans are studied, explaining when and how to execute these ideas.
Through instructive positions and games, the course allows you to understand the characteristic plans of both systems and build a coherent repertoire to play with White.
GM Andrés Rodríguez Vila is the first and only Grandmaster in the history of Uruguayan chess. He started playing at age 10, played his first World Youth Championship at 12, and became his country's first International Master at 18. Recognized as one of the most creative players in South America, he qualified for the 2009 World Cup and represented Uruguay in multiple Olympiads. Today he combines high-level competition with outstanding work as a coach.
Book a private lesson with Andrés Rodríguez →Grandmaster Leonardo Tristán, born in Necochea, Argentina, in 1989, is one of the standout representatives of the current generation of Argentine chess. He officially earned his Grandmaster title in 2020 and reached a peak Elo rating of 2561. Among his career highlights, he finished as runner-up in the 2021 Argentine Championship after playing a tiebreak for the title against GM Fernando Peralta. He also represented the Argentine national team at the Chennai Chess Olympiad in 2022. In 2025, he won the 54th Mar del Plata International Open, one of Argentina's most traditional open tournaments, scoring 8 points out of 9. His background combines a strong presence in top Argentine tournaments with extensive international competitive experience.
