This course takes you through essential areas of chess across six independent yet complementary classes. From the creativity and tactical spirit of Mikhail Tal and Alexei Shirov, we move on to studying opening systems like the Réti and the Sveshnikov Sicilian, before diving into strategic decisions regarding piece exchanges and fundamental concepts in rook endgames.
This approach allows you to see how great players solve very different problems over the board while equipping you with practical tools for your own games. Attack, calculation, strategy, openings and endgames come together in a course designed to broaden your overall understanding of the game.
GM Andrés Rodríguez Vila is the first and only Grandmaster in the history of Uruguayan chess. He started playing at age 10, played his first World Youth Championship at 12, and became his country's first International Master at 18. Recognized as one of the most creative players in South America, he qualified for the 2009 World Cup and represented Uruguay in multiple Olympiads. Today he combines high-level competition with outstanding work as a coach.
