This course brings together six essential topics to move towards a deeper and more practical understanding of chess. Grandmasters Andrés Rodríguez and Diego Flores present tools to evaluate complex positions, identify common mistakes and find solutions at different moments of the game.
Throughout the journey, frequent endgame mistakes are studied, along with methods to handle complex evaluations, attacking ideas in the Ruy López, typical pawn structures, positions with the f5 pawn, and a second approach to the Sicilian Defense systems with e6.
A varied and complementary proposal that helps students better interpret positions, make well-founded decisions and play with greater confidence in openings, middlegames and endgames.
GM Andrés Rodríguez Vila is the first and only Grandmaster in the history of Uruguayan chess. He started playing at age 10, played his first World Youth Championship at 12, and became his country's first International Master at 18. Recognized as one of the most creative players in South America, he qualified for the 2009 World Cup and represented Uruguay in multiple Olympiads. Today he combines high-level competition with outstanding work as a coach.

GM Diego Flores is a leading figure in contemporary Argentine chess. He earned his Grand Master title in 2008 and reached a peak FIDE rating of 2634. A multi-time Argentine champion —matching Miguel Najdorf's historic record of titles—, he has represented his country in seven Chess Olympiads and won the 2018 Dubai Open. He combines a deep chess culture with a great ability to clearly explain complex ideas.
